‘Victor’ - Clinker Launch
‘Victor’, a 20ft clinker beachboat formerly used as the Harbour Master’s launch at Orford.
‘Victor’ was built in Woodbridge at Frank Knight’s Shipyard.
Following retirement from Orford, she was bought by a small group who maintained her as a piece of local history. Sold by them to a local shipwright she was on track for restoration until health issues intervened.
‘Victor’ has been ashore for approximately 4 years and does require plank and frame work before she can be relaunched. Her wheelhouse was removed by previous owners. She has a Perkins Perama engine fitted but its condition is unknown.
Several other Frank Knights clinker launches are in use as pleasure boats on the river and ‘Victor’ has lots of potential to become a perfect platform for family adventures on the river.
