‘Seapig’ - Deben Cherub
Unfortunately, health issues forced 'Seapig's owner to stop a promising restoration and she came back to Woodbridge Boatyard, where she was built in 1929, to seek a new custodian and complete her restoration. She needs some work but deserves it.
She was commissioned by the brother of the owner of the original 'Cherub' and spent her early years racing with her sisters on the Deben. In later life she did a lot of her sailing on the River Blackwater before falling on hard times and laying at Heybridge Basin until rescue by her most recent owner.
2024 was the 100th anniversary of the Deben Cherub design and we're as keen as ever to keep these wonderful little boats sailing; with regular cruising and fleet racing active on the Deben and further afield we are far from the only ones with a passion for these classic pocket cruisers. If you might be 'Seapig's new custodian please get in touch!
