‘Hesperus’ was built in approximately 1971, at Felixstowe Ferry Boatyard. Her current owner, a boatbuilder in North Norfolk, has had her for the last 10yrs, in which time she has had a lot of restoration.
She is 18’ x 7’ 6” x 14” draught. Mahogany planking on Oak. Work carried out in the last eight yrs as follows; New transom, transom knee and quarter knees. New floorboard set, New mahogany engine box, Sheerstrakes, rubbing rail and cappings all renewed. Cutless bearing renewed. Overall ridge tent cover, rudimentary yard boat trailer. All fastenings renewed were of copper, SS and silicon bronze. Bright work all in exceptional order
Engine BMC 1.5 diesel re built prior to current ownership.  ‘Hesperus’ is a joy to use, very manoeuvrable with a very shallow draught, ideal for exploring creeks and estuaries. Comfortably seats ten passengers.
